Useful Information

Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to discuss a possible booking, before you do, here’s some information that might help . . .

There is usually a chosen theme or subject matter for the work, unless the project is purely skills based. I usually bring all of the relevant visual resources for this with me but will sometimes need the use of a photocopier if more copies are required on the day.

I bring all of the basic art materials with me so all I need on the day is a suitable area to work in, tables to work on and a sink somewhere nearby (not necessarily in the same room) Sometimes I work in the classroom but it doesn’t have to be this large a space, I am happy to set up anywhere that is practical.

I usually try to arrive at workshops about an hour before they are due to start in order to park, unload and set up especially if it is a venue I haven’t visited before and may involve parking issues or a long walk to the workshop venue.

I always bring my DBS and Public Liability Insurance information with me when I am working with children but I can also email copies of these beforehand if necessary. Alternatively, I am also on the government's renewable DBS service online so you can check my clearance details prior to my visit through this if it’s easier.

I usually bring an invoice for the work with me on the day of the project. I never ask for any payment up front or any kind of deposit. I assume that the email confirmation of the workshop date and content is a verbal agreement by both parties and I don’t often need a formal contract for one-off projects, if the work gets cancelled by either side then usually it is simply rescheduled for a later date.

The work the children create is always left at the venue for you to display. I am happy to give you advice on this while I am there in school and can see the proposed display space, or, if you’d prefer you can send me a photo of the space or dimensions prior to the workshop and I can then attempt to make something that will fit into the available space.
